ISCA BBS Client: Hot Keys

Hot keys perform special functions in the client and also allow you to activate your macros if you have defined any. To set up your hot keys, use the Hotkeys menu in the client configuration menu.

Command Key

You will press this key to activate any of your macros or special functions below. The default command key is Esc. When you use Esc as your command key, you can activate macros or special functions by holding down the Alt key (Option on Mac OS X) and then pressing the key for the macro or special function you want. Otherwise you must press the command key, then press the key for the macro or special function. If you have upgraded from an older client, your command key may be set to Ctrl-B.

Quit Key

By pressing the command key followed by the quit key, you can forcibly quit the client, even if the BBS is not responding. The default quit key is Ctrl-D. If you have upgraded from an older client, your quit key may be set to Ctrl-F.

Suspend Key (Unix and Mac OS X only)

By pressing the command key followed by the suspend key, you can suspend the client and return to your Unix shell. This key does not apply to the Windows version. The default suspend key is Ctrl-Z.

New Shell Key (Unix and Mac OS X only)

By pressing the command key followed by the new shell key, you can start a new, child shell under Unix and Mac OS X systems. This key does not apply to the Windows version. The default new shell key is !.

Capture Key

By pressing the command key followed by the capture key, you can turn capturing on and off. The default capture key is C. If you have upgraded from an older client, your capture key may be set to Shift-C.

Away from Keyboard Key

By pressing the command key followed by the away from keyboard key, you can enable your express message answering machine, which will inform users who X you that you are away from your keyboard. The default away key is A. If you have upgraded from an older client, your away key may be set to I.
